Originally from Redhill in Surrey I attended the Warwick school in my home
town and then Reigate sixth form college for my A levels, Physics, Further Maths, Chemistry
and theatre studies. I then applied to Durham to study the Mathematics and Physics (natural sciences) course.
My fourth year project was supervised by Professor Ruth Gregory and related to Braneworld inflation theories,
however I have not decided to pursue this as a research field!
I graduated in June 2009 with a first class degree.
Having obviously enjoyed my time here, I decided to stay on for a Ph.D. within
the group of atomic and molecular physics. I am part of the theory section of the bright matter-wave
soliton group, Supervised by Dr Simon Gardiner.
My non physics related interests include computer games, real ales, a reasonably
eclectic selection of music and good books. On the more active side I do Rapper sword dancing and
practice Shorinji kempo both as part of university groups.
