I grew up in Wallasey on the Wirral Peninsula where I attended the Mosslands School. From here I moved on to Durham University in 2003 and graduated with first class honours in 2007. My masters project involved the design and construction of a compact DAVLL (dichroic atomic vapour laser lock) setup for rubidium.

Currently my research involves the study of a degenerate mixture of rubidium and caesium with the long term goal of producing heteronuclear molecules in the rovibrational ground state.
